By leveraging this advanced aseptic packaging technology, Petite Palates has introduced a line of globally inspired, veg-forward baby meals that provide enhanced nutrition, fresh taste, and reliable product safety, all without refrigeration or the use of preservatives.
Aseptic packaging designed for better nutrition and quality
By choosing SIG’s aseptic pouch filling technology, Petite Palates ensures every pouch delivers safe, high-quality meals. The aseptic process sterilizes both the product and the packaging separately before the products are filled and the packs are sealed in the sterile chamber of the filling machine. This safeguards what matters most – taste, texture, and nutrition – while extending shelf life by months without refrigeration.
Unlike traditional retort-processed baby food, which is exposed to heat for extended periods, aseptically processed food is heated at ultra-high temperature for only a very short time before being filled into SIG’s aseptic pouches. This gentle process allows Petite Palates to preserve the integrity, flavor, and nutritional value of their recipes. This results in:
- Higher retention of vitamins and key nutrients
- Fresher taste and brighter natural colors
- No need for refrigeration before opening
- No need for preservatives
- Longer shelf life while maintaining baby-safe quality
Meeting the demand for cleaner, smarter baby food solutions
As families increasingly seek healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable food options, SIG’s aseptic packaging technology positions partners like Petite Palates to meet – and exceed – those expectations.
“We chose SIG’s aseptic spouted pouch technology because it allows us to deliver the kind of baby meals we believe parents are looking for – nutrient-rich, flavorful, and free from unnecessary preservatives or additives,” said Debby Goan, co-founder of Petite Palates. “The technology gives us the ability to preserve the integrity of our recipes while providing the safety and convenience today’s families need.”

SIG’s spouted pouch system is designed to combine consumer convenience with supply chain efficiency. By eliminating the need for a cold chain, it enables broader and more flexible distribution, while the lightweight, compact format is ideally suited for both e-commerce and direct-to-consumer fulfillment. Parents also benefit from the resealable design, which makes feeding on the go simple and mess-free.
“At SIG, we design our packaging systems not only to protect food but also to optimize distribution and reduce environmental impact,” said Anna Rabanus, Marketing Manager Spouted Pouches at SIG North America. “With aseptic technology, brands like Petite Palates can bring safe, nutritious meals to market more efficiently, while also lowering energy use across processing, transport and storage. It’s a win for both families and sustainability.”
This combination of performance and flexibility makes SIG’s solution exceptionally suited to brands like Petite Palates, which place equal importance on product integrity, modern parenting needs, and environmental responsibility.
